Almond Milk

Creamy Almond Milk
Almost forgot to take a pic before I drank it all!
Dairy Free
I thought for a moment, should I put dairy free?  Of course it is dairy free but do I actually need to say it? Then I remembered a visit to a restaurant with my family. My nephews ordered milk with their meal and my girls really wanted some as well. So I asked if they had almond milk. They said they had milk with almonds. So I assumed (you know what they say about assuming) that it was  homemade almond milk. My girls split a cup and drank it like it was WAY to good. I tasted it and thought WOW this is awesome. Well come to find out it was exactly what she said, milk blended with almonds and sugar. So lesson learned always ask if it is dairy free!
Ingredients:
1 cup almonds (soaked in filtered water overnight)
3 cups filtered water
1 tbs maple syrup
1 tsp vanilla
Cinnamon or nutmeg to taste (optional)
I'm really embracing being kind to my food. On a cellular and energetic level it effects me.  I feel it now that I've been on his journey of a clean healthy filled life style. Just months ago I would of thought that I was going a little nuts, be kind to my food?! It means be conscious when preparing what your going to put into your body because that becomes your body!!  So put love into it and you in turn are showing love for yourself. For example would I want to bath in a natural spring pond or a  chemical filled pool? Take care of your food and your food with take care of you.

Directions:
Drain almonds and place in high speed blender like a vitamix with 3 cups filtered water. Add remaining ingredients and blend on high for about 3 minutes. Strain in milk bag or I use a fine mesh strainer. Place in fridge until chilled.
Enjoy!

  1. I just started adding 1 tbs of ground flaxseed. I enjoy the extra body it adds.
